What object swapping tries to change

AI video object swapping replaces a selected item while retaining the action around it. A bottle, bag or prop should continue to follow the original movement and perspective rather than appear as a static sticker. The source video establishes interactions and camera timing, and a reference image describes the desired item. This page explains how to plan such an edit. AI Genjutsu’s first connected workflow is character replacement with selectable 480p, 720p or 1080p output; object swapping has not been independently validated as a separate mode here. Do not purchase credits on the assumption of guaranteed product replacement.

Start with an easy product shot

Choose footage with one recognizable object and a clear view of its outline. A stationary product on a table is a simpler concept than an object spinning rapidly or repeatedly covered by a hand. Inspect whether the object changes size or orientation during the shot. Those moments are useful checkpoints for reviewing an eventual replacement. Trim around one action and keep the original footage so you can compare. Multiple cuts, strong reflections and transparent materials can make consistency harder even when the instruction sounds straightforward.

Match the reference to the interaction

Select a product image that shows its shape, color and proportions clearly. A reference with a similar viewing angle can make the intended replacement easier to understand. Consider whether the new item could plausibly fit the original grip, shelf or tabletop space. Replacing a small can with a much taller bottle changes the interaction and may require more than an appearance swap. A clean reference cannot compensate for an impossible hand position. Prepare original or licensed imagery rather than assuming another brand’s marketing photograph is available for reuse.

Explain both the target and the constraints

A practical concept prompt names the target and preserves the relevant action: replace the red cup on the table with the ceramic mug in the reference image; retain the tabletop, hand movement, shot timing and camera push-in. If two similar cups appear, identify the target by position. Avoid asking for new lighting and an unchanged reflection at the same time. Treat these instructions as a starting brief for a compatible editing workflow. They describe the desired transformation but do not prove that our current character mode supports the object task.

Review commercial details separately

Product concepts need more than a convincing overall silhouette. Check labels, logos, readable packaging, material texture, reflections and finger contact across the whole clip. Generated text can deform between frames, and a plausible-looking package may still misrepresent the actual item. Compare the result against an approved reference before using it in an advertisement. A creative preview can help explore an idea without becoming final commercial evidence. If exact labels matter, plan a separate finishing step and retain the original product artwork for review.

Use the available workflow honestly

You can use the current editor to test supported character replacement and learn how source video, reference images and credit quotes work together. AI Genjutsu currently focuses on character replacement; product, outfit and scene changes are not separately available workflows. If your immediate requirement is a product-only replacement, evaluate a workflow that explicitly supports that task before paying. For the supported character edit, start with a short clip, confirm the quote and follow the task in history. Avoid repeated paid requests while an earlier task is still processing or its submission status is uncertain.

Frequently asked questions

Is object swap available as a verified mode?

Not in this first release. The connected editor is character replacement.

Can product text be trusted automatically?

No. Inspect labels and logos across every frame before commercial use.

What makes a good source?

One clear object, limited occlusion and a continuous shot make the brief easier to evaluate.
